This is one of the best plants to have in your garden in our climate for the following reasons:
- California Native Plant
- Hardy and drought tolerant
- Fixes Nitrogen in the soil (meaning it will fertilize plants around it). You can use the cuttings as “green manure”
- Spring purple flowers are beautiful. They can be used for soap (just scrub the flowers between your hands with a bit of water).
- Can also be used internally for healing under specific conditions
- Acts as a ground cover
This is probably the most beautiful ceanothus variety
Care instructions: Adapted to our local ecosystem. Does not need much care other than pruning every so often. Drought tolerant. Preferably plant in soil outside.
