This is one of the best plants to have in your garden in our climate for the following reasons:
- California Native Plant
- Hardy and drought tolerant
- Fixes Nitrogen in the soil (meaning it will fertilize plants around it). You can use the cuttings as “green manure”
- Spring purple flowers are beautiful. They can be used for soap (just scrub the flowers between your hands with a bit of water).
- Can also be used internally for healing under specific conditions
Care instructions: This plant can use some pruning, but we leave it wild so you can do what you like with it. Cut it back as much as you want, it can take it.
